 Carpet Deodorizer This is a great way to freshen up those carpets and area rugs without chemicals or even needing to make any additional purchases. It’s gentle and effective, leaving your rooms smelling great and your rugs clean. I keep this on hand in a large Ball jar. 1 cup baking soda 10 - 15 drops essential oils (orange, lavender, eucalyptus and more are great scents) Dried herbs like rosemary or lavender, optional Mix together the baking soda and essential oils in a Ball jar or other airtight container. Mix with a chopstick or fork to spread the scent through the baking soda. Or put the lid on and shake, shake, shake! Sprinkle over the carpet or rug and let it sit for 15 minutes or more.
