Vegan Street Reviews the January Petit Vour Beauty Box
by Marla Rose
My birthday month was made a little more celebratory with the arrival of January’s
box. In fact, these sweet boxes make every month feel a little like a
celebration when they arrive on your doorstep. The award-winning Petit
Vour boxes feature small, independent companies with a commitment to
sustainability practices and clean ingredient lists. To see a bit of
what subscribers have been sent since we signed up as affiliates, check
out the Petit Vour December and November reviews.
Here’s how it works: Subscribers will receive four beauty or personal
care products, ranging from generous samples to full-sized items, in
each pretty pink box. The January box had one item that was a cosmetic,
two hair products and a skin product. At just $15 U.S., $23 for
Canadian subscribers, or $25 elsewhere, you will get a new box each
month featuring carefully curated items you wouldn’t find in a regular
store; you can subscribe for a year or monthly (or three or six-month
plans) and you can also purchase as gifts. The Petit Vour online shop
also sells a variety of quality vegan and eco personal care products
and cosmetics and, with their generous rewards program subscribers really have an incentive to buy here.
Here was what I found in my January box and my reviews:
Lauren B. Beauty Nail Couture
This is a vegan brand that strives for chip-free and long-lasting wear
without the harsh chemicals, like formaldehyde and camphor, that are
often found in nail polishes. As a busy and thrifty lady who prefers
splurges elsewhere, I appreciate the professional manicure quality this
brand offers. With a smooth, shiny finish, you can admire your nails
for up to two weeks between re-applications. I was sent Vintage on
Vine, a pretty and unusual lilac-grey color.
Blissoma Peaceful Purity Tonique
Like an herbal tea for your complexion, this facial toner gives skin a
moisturizing boost with organic herbs and rose water. To me, it smells
like cinnamon but is very soothing. This is great for before applying
moisturizer or for helping to set mineral foundation. It will leave
your face feeling dewy fresh.
EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner
Oh wow. First of all, the scent is heavenly. It reminds me of a shampoo
I used to buy at Aveda (Brilliant) and so that was fun to enjoy again.
Second, they left my hair feeling clean, soft and shiny. I am someone
who is generally low-poo (meaning I shampoo once or twice a month)
because shampoo can be very drying for curly hair and I wash my hair
using the method
developed for my hair type. Seeing shampoo in the box, I thought it’d
be something my boys could use but I gave it a go anyway. I am loving
it! Shampooing once a week with it has been fine for my locks and not
at all drying. The conditioner is rich but light. It is kind of a magic
elixir that works great on the three hair types – fine, wavy and curly
– in our household. The EVOLVh products are what I could see myself
buying again most from this month’s box.
I love the Petit Vour Beauty Box
itself as well as the concept. A nice treat to look forward to each
month, the box isn’t too indulgent from a cost perspective and allows
you to try a bunch of great, new items without a big commitment. Kind
of like your cool vegan big sister letting you in on some of her best
kept secrets, the Petit Vour Beauty Box
will give you the access to some fantastic cruelty-free, clean and
sustainable products that most of the world doesn’t know about yet. I
highly recommend the Petite Vour Beauty Box; wonderful as a gift for a friend, a loved one or for your own very deserving self, you won’t be disappointed in it.
Vegan Street received this product for free to review and this was my honest evaluation.
