Rosewater & Lavender Facial Mist
I
am a sucker for those facial mists they sell at Whole Foods; many are
instant mood lifters. Why not make our own, though? They are so much
more affordable and we can make them just to our liking.
This facial mists calls for rosewater, which has astringent and
anti-inflammatory properties, making sensitive skin feel instantly
calmer. (Just the scent of roses, too, is a mood enhancer by itself.)
Adding a little lavender, which further relaxes, aloe vera, which
moisturizes, and witch hazel, which refreshes and fights inflammation,
makes this facial mist a spa in a spray bottle. Enjoy! This can be used
all over the body, not just the face. Use it straight out of the shower
or any time you need a lift. It’s also great any time of the year, but
I especially love it in the winter, when my skin needs more hydration
and I need that summertime boost of rose around me.
1/2 cup distilled water
1/2 cup rosewater
1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
2 teaspoons witch hazel
a few drops lavender essential oil
Pour the following ingredients into a spray bottle
using a funnel to avoid spilling. Swish around before each use. This is
shelf-stable and safe to enjoy for a few months.
