Avocado-Oat Hand Cream
Do
you have a half an avocado that’s seen better days? Do you have a pair
of hands that have also seen better days? Don’t stress out, I’ve got a
win-win solution. Now that the drying winter months are behind us and
planting season is just beginning (at least in our part of the world),
we may have hands that are in serious need of re-hydration. Try this
delicious, natural balm to restore the fine skin on your most useful
tools and find a job for that languishing avocado. Avocado and coconut
oil offer serious hydration, oats soothe the skin, and the scent of
rosemary oil uplifts the spirit. This can be stored in an air-tight
container for three days or so. This cream can also work on your face
(though you may want to do it without the scent) and feet.
Avocado-Oat Hand Cream
1/2 ripe or overripe avocado
1/2 tablespoon melted coconut oil
4 teaspoons quick oats, ground in a food processor
3 drops rosemary essential oil or your favorite scent
Mash the avocado with a fork in a small bowl, stir in the coconut oil,
oats, and rosemary until well mixed. Rub a thick coat onto your hands,
let it sit for five minutes, rinse off, and gently pat your hands dry.
