Gingerbread Shake

Gingerbread Shake

“Gingerbread in a glass,” is what our son calls this. With all of the flavors and aromas of gingerbread, this is a festive and fun drink, perfectly delicious any day or the year but especially fitting for the holiday season. Easy to whip up at a moment’s notice with just a blender, this is easy to modify to your personal tastes. If you like more of a ginger kick, simply add more. Don’t like cloves? Don’t use ‘em. Using a frozen banana is your best bet for a frothy, creamy shake, and the ice helps to make it even more of a frosty treat. Happy holidays!

Gingerbread Shake
Makes one large glass

1 frozen banana, sliced
1 cup plain, non-dairy milk
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon unsulphured molasses
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon dried ginger
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
About 4 ice cubes

Combine together in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour and sprinkle with cinnamon for a little fun touch. Enjoy!
