Chocolate Cream Cheese Truffles

Chocolate Cream Cheese Truffles

‘These are sooooo good and very easy to make. If you want just indulgent chocolate with very little middleman, this is the treat for you. Great for gifts as well, these seem fancier than they are. I used Kite Hill’s cream cheese for these and it was the perfect choice. Do use refined coconut oil for these unless you want a coconut taste.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Truffles

1 ½ cups
slavery-free vegan chocolate chips
1 tablespoon refined coconut oil
16 oz. dairy-free cream cheese, at room temperature for about 25 minutes
1 cup organic powdered sugar
¼ cup
slavery-free cacao/cocoa powder plus two tablespoons, separated
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A dash salt

In a double-boiler, stir and melt the chocolate chips and the coconut oil together until smooth.

Add to a stand mixer and mix with the rest of the ingredients, excluding the reserved 2 tablespoons of cacao. Mix until smooth. Alternatively, you can use a hand mixer.

Place in the ‘fridge for 2 hours.

When ready to shape them, roll about a tablespoon of the truffles between your hands until it’s a ball and then roll in the reserved cacao powder. You can place the cacao on a small plate and then roll in the powder or you can press cacao on your hands and roll the truffle ball between your hands. I think it looks a little better that way. Sprinkle with powdered sugar to make them extra pretty.
